| Replacement Terminal Plugs | Custom sensor and fixture wiring |
Analog Input and Output Integration
The USB-6211 can measure a device response while generating a control or stimulus voltage from the same DAQ unit. This makes it suitable for closed-loop laboratory experiments and automated component tests.
Each analog output provides a ±10 V range with 16-bit resolution. External amplifiers are required when the connected load needs more than the specified output current.
Hardware Timing and Counters
Hardware-timed analog input and output improve repeatability compared with software-controlled sampling. Two counters support event counting, encoder measurements, frequency measurement and pulse generation.
USB-6211 Applications
- Portable data acquisition
- Sensor measurement
- Voltage stimulus and response testing
- Laboratory automation
- Educational control experiments
- Electronic device validation
- Encoder and pulse measurement
Stimulus-and-Response Testing
One or both analog outputs can provide a programmable voltage while the analog inputs measure the resulting DUT response. Observe output-current limits and use suitable external buffering when necessary.
USB-6211 Installation Workflow
Step 1: Install NI-DAQmx
Install compatible NI-DAQmx software before connecting and configuring the device.
Step 2: Select the Input Wiring Mode
Choose differential, RSE or NRSE operation based on signal grounding and noise conditions.
Step 3: Connect the USB-6211
Use a known-good USB cable and connect directly to a Hi-Speed USB port.
Step 4: Verify I/O Channels
Run self-test and test-panel operations in NI MAX before developing the final application.
Step 5: Configure Timing and Triggers
Set sampling rates, output update rates, trigger sources and acquisition duration.
USB-6211 Troubleshooting
Analog Input Measurements Are Unstable
Verify grounding, select differential input mode and reduce source impedance where possible.
No Analog Output Is Present
Check the physical AO channel, output range, task state and load impedance.
The Output Voltage Drops Under Load
The analog output is limited to approximately ±2 mA. Use an external buffer or amplifier for heavier loads.
The Device Is Not Detected
Check NI-DAQmx, the USB port and cable. Avoid unpowered hubs and confirm adequate USB power.
USB-6211 Comparison
| Модель | Analog Inputs | Analog Outputs | Изоляция |
|---|---|---|---|
| USB-6210 | 16 at 250 kS/s | Ничего | No |
| USB-6211 | 16 at 250 kS/s | 2 at 250 kS/s | No |
| USB-6215 | 16 at 250 kS/s | 2 at 250 kS/s | Да |
Select the USB-6211 for general-purpose measurement and analog control. Choose the USB-6215 when isolation between the USB host and measurement circuitry is required.
